I’m writing a book. My main characters recently subdued a pursuer who is a ranking official. They have him tied up in their room abord a steam ship. the ship has returned to dock. I need a creative way of getting him out of site long enough to either get away or something else. 1860’s Venice. Think League of Extraordinary gentlemen. all ideas welcome.

Put him in a long box and throw him over board privately without prying eyes, or if one of the main character has a relative or friend at the harbor, put the tied man in the box in his/her care. That is all I can think of without getting too bloody.
