A Six Hundred Dollar Tuneup?
Ok I went to pick up my car from STS( I been going there for about 9 years). My starter was bad, and I had the starter replaced, also had a check engine light, and my car would stutter as I accelerate up hill. anyways the STS guy told me, yea the check engine light, we drove your car around, you need a full complete tuneup, your motor is in there tight(whatever that means) and the tune up will end up costing around 600. I told them I’ll be back in a couple of weeks. I picked up my phone and called Firestone, asked them for cost of complete tuneup of 1995 CADILLAC SEDAN DEVILLE, Firestone told me a tuneup for my car would cost me 240.., Now is STS 600 dollar tuneup superior to Firestone’s 240 dollar tuneup? Does STS do more in the tuneup than what Firestone is, or is STS basically bending me over, and giving me a fuel injection cleaning?
To Airmech the STS guy said the engine light on is actually a i forgot, backfire, or soemthing along those lines. But the car hesitates frequesntly when I hit the gas, he also mentioned that the motor is "in there real tight" and that I defnitely need the complete tuneup.
Before you go over the edge call and get exactly what Firestone will be doing and what kind of parts they are using. Next call your regular shop and see why the major price difference. In most cases like this I have found that the Firestone price goes way up once your in because they forgot to add this or that and it will be this much more.

cadillac engines are hard to work on. In there tight means that there isn’t much room to work around the engine. Alot of times motor mounts need to be removed and the engine lifted a little just to change a couple spark plugs. Firestone may find that out half way into it.
You need to find someone to tell you exactly why the light is on, there is no error code that says complete tuneup. You may pay the 600 and the light will still be on.

Assuming that I understand the question correctly, you’re trying to find the x and y values that solve both equations simultaneously. So you want to make each equation resemble each other and then solve for one letter at a time.
6x – 5y = 22
9y + 7 = 5x + 8
First, get the variables on one side and the simple numbers on the other.
6x – 5y = 22
9y – 5x = 8 – 7
You’re going to combine the two equations, but you need to cancel out either the x or y value to do it. To do that, you need to multiply the equations to make the lowest common multiple.
Let’s get rid of the x values. The lowest common multiple is 30, so to get the x’s to 30 multiply the entire first equation by 5 and the second by 6. This doesn’t change the actual equation.
30x – 25y = 110
-30x + 54y = 6 (I switched the order on the left just for clarity.)
Add or subtract down the columns of like values. The 30x and -30x will cancel.
29y = 116 Divide both sides by 29 to leave the y alone.
y = 4
Then go back and either resolve the equation for x, or plug the y number in and find x that way. Always double check to make sure it fits in both equations.

Help making a Bible study (Catholic) fun?
Hi,
I am one of the teachers of a Catholic CCE Bible study for high school freshman and sophomores. Last Sunday, I stuck to the book and I feel like everyone was really bored. I was hoping for some good ideas to make it more interesting like games, movie clips, discussion points etc… This week, our lesson is on signs (ex…dove, bread, wine), symbols (ex…fire, water, oil) and rituals (ex…the procession, sign of the cross, standing, folding hands, kneeling, raising our hands and eyes, laying on of hands, shake hands) within the church.
A good icebreaker idea could be good too since this is only our 3rd week. We have already done "I want to go to heaven with…", "Three truths and a lie", and the game where you say the name of the person in a circle and throw them a ball.
Any ideas would be great, even if it’s just a list of a few movie clips that may be applicable to the topic. Thanks and God bless.
Rather than trying to entertain them, you need to engage them. Pick a student every week, and at the end of the class, tell the student what next week’s subject will be. Ask the student to bring in music or movie clips that they think are relative to the topic, and then when the class has viewed them, open the floor for discussion and really listen to what the kids have to say. Prompt the silent kids by telling them you really want their insight. When you’ve shown them that you are interested in their beliefs and will listen to their statements, they are going to be more apt to listen to you explain the Church’s view.
If you try to make this fun, they aren’t going to take is seriously. Serious and fun are opposites.
If you want them to take this seriously, then you need to engage their intellect intentionally and honestly.

You have a really tough group of kids to work with, most have had their Confirmation and they want to be outside doing stuff not sitting for an hour with you. Sticking to the book can make it better they might learn something. This ‘fun’ stuff might be good once a month but not constantly, have you talked to the other teachers that have taught that class, or the RE leader to find out what they have done before?
Each parish is a little different but you need to get them involved have them plan the lessons is there any suggestions in that book you are reading from? do they get homework or projects? Do you do out of the classroom acitivities? Also pray about it some times meditation gives you the most wonderful ideas to make their faith come alive.
(Remember the holidays are coming they should be bringing in food for the poor the next 2 months, making baskets, and they also should be helping deliver the baskets and toys not just being part of the whole process)

I don’t know how to make it "fun" per se
I’d try to make it applicable to their LIVES. Bring in examples of signs in pop culture, symbols in music, the media, and point out OTHER rituals we do in everyday life – to make it relevant.
For example: Most of us have a "morning ritual" to get ready. What OTHER rituals do we have, that maybe we don’t even THINK are rituals but are?
If we really want to do things right.. don’t we usually create a procedure to ensure we do it right? Doesn’t that procedure turn into a ritual?
Discuss the difference between rituals and procedures and the importance of doing things the RIGHT way.
To tie into symbols.. why not have them make their OWN symbols.. like a family crest that symbolize their family OR a personal "coate of Arms" that symbolizes THEM.
Remember, teenagers are generally self-absorbed as they figure out who they are and transition into Adulthood. The more you can make it about THEM and about pop culture..the better.

PERSONALLY – and this might be too divisive, but to make it relevent to them.. I’d talk openly about what other people in the world say about the Symbols and Rituals of the Catholic faith. Use Apologetics to give these kids some real-world defenses against some of the arguments and Anti-Catholic statements they will hear from Secular society and non-Catholic Christians. – that way, if nothing else, when they leave.. they may know how to stand up for their faith, which I think is increasingly important in a secular society which says "that’s old and outdated" and "if no one gets hurt, what’s wrong with it?"

Honestly I see nothing in your words that could be tied to actual Bible study:-( God Commands all, not some to Seek His Truth, lest ye be decieved, this is a Loving Warning to protect us because He loves us. We typically study a Book i.e Daniel or John etc. we then can use our concordance to compare Scripture with Scripture to further understand and confirm the meaning, we take turns reading as well, this involves ALL and can be quite Fun, interesting and helpful to all
you must agree time is limited and we should be understanding His Living and Loving Truths and Promises, better to be prepared, and we alsways have "fun" just being in fellowship….God Bless and Keep You

What was this short film I saw called?
I have a memory of seeing a short animated horror film when i was younger, and I’ve been trying to find out what it was called for years. The film was animated in stop motion, in a style similar to Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline. The film was silent with no dialogue, only a musical score.
The film was set at night in a large creepy mansion. A young boy was trying to sleep at the top of the mansion, but he was very afraid because there was a bird like man in a suit stalking through the house trying to find him. I specifically remember a part where the boy makes a noise and the birdman suddenly looks up and knows where the boy is, even though he is on the bottom floor of the house. the birdman climbed many flights of stairs very slowly and creepily to get to the boy. I also remember a moment where the boys bedroom door began to open and he was afraid, but his mother came through instead. she comforted him, but when she left she closed the door and the bird like man was standing behind it. he jumped at the boy and the film showed only shadows- he struck the boys face two times and then leapt out of the window and flew away into a full moon. the last few shots of the film showed the bird man flying down to a nest with two baby bird people in. he fed them a pair of eyes! the film then shows the boy stumbling through darkness with two large black holes in his face.
my question is, what is this film called? who made it? how can i see it again? i remember it very vividly but nobody i know has ever seen it. the fact that it is a short film makes things more difficult because it will never have had a cinema release most likely. please help me out this is driving me crazy.
